About Me
Joseph Castillo
I’m Joseph Castillo, a proud local of Guatemala, and I’m excited to welcome you to the second year of our Passover program. Now set on the stunning Pacific coast at Oceana Resort.
After the incredible response to our inaugural program, I’ve poured even more love, intention, and care into crafting a Pesach experience that’s deeply meaningful, joyful, and memorable for the whole family.
This program was born from a vision: to create space for people to connect with their Judaism in a profound and personal way, surrounded by the warmth of community and the beauty of creation. With every detail thoughtfully curated. From inspiring Torah experiences to unforgettable entertainment and exceptional kosher cuisine, my goal is to give you a holiday that refreshes the soul and strengthens the spirit.
As someone rooted in this land and passionate about Jewish life, I’m honored to share the magic of Guatemala with guests from around the world. I can’t wait to welcome you to Pesach 2026 at Oceana, a celebration like no other.

Program Details
Our 8-day, 7-night Pesach program at Oceana Resort, Guatemala, offers a refreshing and meaningful experience by the sea — blending beachfront luxury, Jewish tradition, and uplifting community. Running from April 1–9, 2026, with arrivals and departures through La Aurora International Airport (GUA) in Guatemala City, the resort is just a scenic 2.5-hour drive away.
Guests will enjoy elegant accommodations, gourmet kosher cuisine, daily minyanim, and engaging Torah classes — all in a relaxed, tropical setting. With curated entertainment, a dedicated kids’ program, and resort-style amenities like pools, a surf simulator, and nightly shows, there's something for everyone.

Scholar In Residence:
Rabbi Yonatan Segal
Rabbi Dr. Yonatan Segal is an educator, counselor, and scholar who bridges the worlds of Torah, science, and psychology. A renowned teacher of Chassidut at Makor Chayim Yeshiva, he has led nationwide Jewish seminars and served as a guest rabbi for High Holidays and Pesach Sedarim worldwide. With a Ph.D. in science education, he also teaches at Bar-Ilan University and integrates analytical thinking with deep spiritual wisdom.
Beyond academia, Rabbi Segal provides marriage counseling and communication therapy, helping individuals and couples navigate relationships with clarity and emotional intelligence. His wife, Mrs. Nava Segal, is a clinical psychologist, and together they are dedicated to supporting personal and spiritual growth in individuals, families, and communities.
Kashrut:
International Kosher Mehadrin (IKM)
The International Kosher Mehadrin (IKM) is providing the Kashrut supervision for our program, led by Rabbi Berel Simpser, a highly respected authority with over 25 years of experience in Kashrut supervision. He has overseen numerous Pesach programs, kosher cruises, and large-scale events, ensuring the highest standards of Kosher certification.
Under the meticulous supervision of IKM, our program maintains the highest Glatt Kosher LePesach standards, following Non-Gebrochts guidelines. All dairy products are Cholov Yisrael, and we provide Mevushal wines and Shmurah Matzah. Our team of highly trained mashgichim ensures that every aspect of Kashrut is upheld with the utmost care and precision.
Kosher Culinary Experience
Our Pesach program offers an exceptional kosher culinary experience, with meals prepared under the supervision of Chef Julio Hernandez, who brings over 30 years of expertise in international and kosher cuisine. Guests will enjoy a range of traditional Jewish dishes for Pesach, all carefully crafted to meet the highest standards of Kosher LePesach (non-Gebrochts) and Cholav Yisrael.
In addition to classic Pesach offerings, our menu will feature a selection of local Guatemalan specialties, offering a unique fusion of regional flavors. From Seder meals to festive holiday dining, our culinary experience will combine the best of kosher tradition with the vibrant, fresh tastes of Guatemala, creating a truly memorable Pesach celebration.
